july 20th already...

well boys and girls, how time flies. it's july 20th! this last weekend was a blur for me. filled with very busy activities. was going out to this ranch in a small town on i-10 a few times...but i loved it. granted it was an hour away, but i don't care. it's a long explanation...but let me sum it up with ya know that feeling you get when you go back to a place that you hadn't been in a while, and it brings back a rush of emotions and memories...well i enjoyed each and every memory that came back this weekend!

supposed to rain all of this week, even though it says scattered or isolated storms, it usually is cloudy all over...and humid too! how's a girl w/ curly hair supposed to straighten it and have it stay for any portion of time when as soon as i step outside i can practically feel the moisture leaping into my hair and it getting curly again?!?!?!!?!??!! please somebody tell my why?!?!?!

i whole-heartedly agree w/ this:

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the "Peanuts" comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read the e-mail straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winner for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Acheivements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?
"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia."
Charles Schultz

friday ... woo-(too tired for the hoo)

so it's friday...i am beat. i hate to complain, but it is raining way too much for my liking. i live in a older neighborhood, and my street floods (thank the Lord it hasn't these last few days!), AND i drive a cavalier...not exactly the tallest of vehicles. since i missed the 10 o'clock news, i just checked out the web-site and the radar sweep is clean!!!!! hallelujah!!!!! this is the break we need for the drainage systems to kick in.

so the part-time at the old job experience is quite taxing. me don't think this will be happenin' much longer. i am being had! no comments from the peanut gallery please!

this came across my e-mail today:
We Is Friends!
Me And You Is Friends ...
You Smile, I Smile ...
You Hurt, I Hurt ...
You Cry, I Cry ...
You Jump Off A Bridge ...
I'm Gonna Miss Your E-Mails !

this is pushing a late friday night / early saturday morning post. and at that i'll call it a night.

quotes

well i am sitting here, looking at the rain on the window, then having to turn because the sun is too bright! it seems weird when it rains and the sky is blue w/ big white clouds...anyways...i stumbled upon these quotes, and they are either kinda profound, or ironic, or funny...just liked 'em so i decided to post them!

If a woman has to choose between catching a fly ball and saving an infants life, she will choose to save the infants life without even considering if there are men on base.

hot

this is how things rank in southern texas..."my home a/c scared me yesterday afternoon when i felt only warm air blowing. “oh no!” then relief. i had accidentally nudged the thermostat to “fan.” i switched it on for real and stuck my face into the grill. scares like that instantly alter one’s perception of life’s priorities." from mark at clear lake reflections

it's only wednesday?!

so i am supposed to go part-time for the company i used to work for. why you may ask...i'm not sure, i've been asking myself that a lot this week! mainly because i haven't been able to find another job as of yet, and was really missing my wacky goings-on with melissa, the girl i worked with. aside from that i have absolutely no idea why i decided to go back, even part time. the office is in stink-er-dena, and i live across town, at least 45 minutes away.
here's my real dilemma, i've got this nagging pain in my left side...2nd time it's crept up on me in the last 2 months, which is far too often for me, it's better now than it was when i woke up, but do i want to get ready and drive all the way to stink-er-dena? i need the money, but can't afford to spend the gas...decisions decisions.

well unless i start feeling worse, i guess i'll get ready and go. yippee!!!

reminder: please pray for a safe shuttle launch today

newbie

hiya! i'm new to this. i hope you enjoy reading these...well, i don't want to call them rants, just mental rabbit trails...and sometimes just mental straight paths...w/ no wandering required! fair warning, i am not a fan of capitalizing, and i also tend to transpose letters, so thank the Lord that this thing has spell check (i've just got to remember to use it)...but there is one thing that spell check doesn't catch...grammarical errors. i am an ace at typing out when i meant our, or vice versa! so sit back, relax, and away we go...

in case you were wondering, the title, can i stay here forever, comes from the title of a song i love from a band called starfield. it says "through forgotten convistions / misplaced affections / i'm losing the sound of Your voice / i've been chasing after the emptiness / trying to tidy up this mess / i swear i've been down this road before / i want to get back to where it all began when i would long for only You // like a child i'll take You at Your word / as these mountains of doubt, they fade away / i'm longing to trust and love You more / so for me this is beautiful / a brand new thought, and a brand new world / can i stay here forever with You? (there's more, but this is the jest of it)

so i'm a 20 something living in southern texas, i may have the option of going to college, if i wish, or getting a company off of the ground. the tough thing is is that i am passionate about both. i have felt a call on my life to serve the Lord specifically in the area of Christian psychology, but i had to start working right after i graduated high school. so now that the opportunity may be presenting itself, it's decision time. i really want to do both though. we shall see...although i'll probably end up doing both...

so feel free to comment of what i post..for me this is a way of expanding my horizons.

parting comment:
"If, as you live your life, you find yourself mentally composing blog entries about it, post this exact same sentence in your weblog."

as seen at the art of imperfection.

God Bless
